Antique Black Lacquer Display V71

Have a question? We're happy to help.

An exceptional display of very rare antique black lacquer papier mache crumb trays and coasters with lead inlay decoration dating to c.1850. The 3 large central crumb trays are outstanding examples of this beautiful craftsmanship and are in amazing condition. The coasters are all pairs, or in one case a set of 4 (collected separately), and vary in condition which I have highlighted in the close up photos. A couple have some broken edges and a tiny bit of lead decoration missing but overall they still display beautifully, as you can see. It has taken me years and years to collect this number and I will probably never have enough to do another display, they are that hard to find. I absolutely adore this lead laquerwork - look at the tiny stars and the chequerboard - and will definitely have a little cry when it leaves the showroom!

INCLUDED IN THE PRICE - to assist with hanging, all my displays come complete with disc hangers on the back of each plate or dish and a folder containing templates and an installation guide.
