Huge Collection of 24 Victorian Staffordshire Figures 293

A beautiful collection of 24 Victorian Staffordshire figures, amassed over a period of many years. Each one has been chosen for its quality, condition, individual character and general aesthetic. I am incredibly fussy when it comes to Staffordshire figures. There are literally thousands of average ones out there as well as thousands of more recent fakes. I particularly love the simple white ones with black and gilt detailing and I adore the ones with dogs and children for example, or a characterful, unusual representation. Included in this collection are some very rare ones, such as the Royal Coat of Arms, the pair of Highland Children with Sheep and the figure of William Tell holding up a pink apple is particularly special, his face is just exquisite.

The majority of them are in excellent near perfect condition but there are few with little chips, and a repair, which is normal considering their age. I have tried to capture the flaws in the photographs at the end and detailed them below but these flaws really are very small in the grand scheme of the collection and overall they display beautifully.

They are pictured on a set of black shelves I have here in the showroom, which are not for sale. It is a guide purely for inspiration - their display opportunities are plentiful - just let the imagination run riot!

The last five pictures show: 

1. Highland Girl with Sheep (left of centre, bottom shelf) the sheep's right ear has been replaced and is a very slightly different colour.
2. Queen Mary (top shelf, three from left) there is a  small rust red paint mark on the horse's mane which will have happened during manufacture.
3. Bagpiping Highlander (second shelf down, second from left) the tip of his nose is chipped but he is still a very handsome fellow!
4. Huntsman on Horse (second shelf down, far left) this has a very small chip at the front of the base, barely visible from afar.
5. Lion & Unicorn – Royal Coat of Arms (Third shelf down, far right) has a small chip to the base at the front. It is very subtle and clearly occurred during manufacture as it has been glazed over.
